San Lorenzo Named One of the Top 15 Golf Resorts in Continental Europe by Golf World

Algarve Golf Resort Ranked in Europe's Top 100 By Prestigious UK Golf Publication

We are delighted to announce that we've been ranked 15th in the 'Top 100 Golf Resorts in Continental Europe' by UK publication Golf World. Working in collaboration with our five-star sister hotel, Dona Filipa, we are proud to be able to offer a truly luxurious golfing break in the heart of the Algarve. We are also thrilled to be listed within the top five resorts in Portugal in this new ranking and hope to continue to go from strength-to-strength in the quality of golf and hospitality we can offer.

The full list of resorts included in the top 100 can be found in the current issue of Golf World Magazine, which is on sale until the 12th of October 2016; it will also be available online later in the year as part of a bi-annual update. With a history spanning over 40 years, this renowned magazine has gained a reputation for not only providing outstanding content to its readership, but for also setting the standard for clubs throughout Europe with its internationally respected 'Top 100 Golf Course' rankings. Together with Today's Golfer Magazine, it forms part of Europe's leading golf media company, Bauer Media, and provides the likes of exclusive tips from leading players, equipment reviews and much more to its 225,000 readers with every issue.

Golf World Magazine also ranked San Lorenzo as 28th in the 'Top 100 Golf Courses in Continental Europe' last year; which was the 25th year in a row that it had included our golf course in its rankings. The 18-hole layout designed by American architects Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore has gained much admiration and recognition since its opening in 1988 and is regarded as amongst the top 100 courses in the world. Awards and titles have included IAGTO's 'Golf Resort of the Year' with Dona Filipa, the 'Number 1 Golf Course in Portugal' by Golf Digest US, and 'European Golf Course of The Year' at the International Golf Awards.

San Lorenzo Golf Course and Dona Filipa Hotel are both owned and operated by JJW Hotels and Resorts, and together deliver a golfer's paradise in the heart of the Algarve's 'Golden Triangle'. Alongside our ranking, we are pleased to announce that another of JJW Hotel and Resort's properties, Penina Hotel & Golf Resort, has also been included in the same listing, positioned at 34th in the 'Top 100 Golf Resorts in Continental Europe'.
